U.S. Navy veteran Liz Riffle raises grass-fed and finished bison in Terra Alta, West Virginia with her still active duty husband and diesel mechanic brother-in-law. Riffle Farms was the first commercial bison operation in the state, and also the first to field harvest animals for state certified commercial sale. Liz is passionate about meat transparency and humane practices. She also runs a sister company, The Honest Carnivore, which offers farmers a route to field harvest their animals in preparation for butchery classes or monthly subscription boxes. She has years of supporting work behind her through The Good Meat Project and The Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund. Liz also studied with a local Savory Hub to become a Holistic Management Accredited Professional and now offers livestock business consulting.
